Gone and Done It

We bought a 10 year old truck yesterday that will replace the 30 year old truck...
If you know that we are on the Dave Ramsey Plan you know we just did a big NO-NO. It would not be bad if we were out of debt already, but we didn't wait for that. It would not be bad if we had saved up the cash to buy it, but we didn't wait for that, either... our inner children won, but at least those kiddies didn't break the bank.

Right now we are $8900 (after fees and licensing) more in debt than we were the day before, but hopefully we can get the other truck sold by fall and cut that down a bit.

It's a Ford Crew Cab, white and in pretty good shape. It's automatic and I don't mind driving it. I didn't like driving the beast as I lovingly refer to the brown truck. I can't wait to take delivery on Monday!

I won't judge.
I've been seriously battling my inner child for a while now about replacing the van.
I've been rationalizing, justifying, excusing, stamping my feet, whining, etc, etc, etc. But so far resisting.
I don't know how long I can hold out. For now it's a daily decision to NOT buy a new vehicle.

Also...I saw your getting fit post but it won't let me comment. Blogger!!! I'll try again later. I had issues on Becky's blog recently too. I think it's Blogger. ????

Woo Hoo nice truck! I am sure that you guys will still be super motivated to pay off your debt and this will not throw off your over all goals to much! Love you can't wait to take a ride! :)

Roger says to tell Dennis to never make fun of his Ford again. ;)

Another FORD!! (What were you thinking?) LOL
Although Mike informed me we will not be buying any GMC/Chevrolet anytime soon.

I HATE that inner child. It got Mike and I too earlier this summer. I really want to go shopping for new shirts soon and I can't decide if I should or hold out.

Trish, I guess this was a daily decision for Dennis as well. I didn't even have a clue he was on the edge though. Tell Roger, that although I don't understand the logic, Dennis doesn't think Roger's Ford is off limits...

Heather, yeah, I'm afraid to look at how far that pushes us out to be debt free. But, we'll take our lumps and just do our best to stay on plan. (right after we figure out a ride for Kaylee, if she ends up staying here with us.)

Amy,
I know, I've never seen anything like it. Guess there's no accounting for taste, but since I'm not turning wrenches on the thing I'll let him decide what brand of truck he wants. (there's probably a better word than "brand" ... Make??)

The big plunge...
