Weekly Weigh-In (Week 23)

I missed weigh in last Sunday for the happiest of reasons, Kaylee's coming to stay with us in Utah for her Senior year. (This week's big gain!)

Monday morning and I finally got a weigh in, but it's taken until today for life to settle down enough to find a moment to post. I'm still trying to wake up but the house is starting to get busy. My nieces, Ariel and Cortney, are visiting this weekend and I'm excited they are here.

I started recording my morning and night weight this week to see if I could predict how the next morning would go. Seems like it's a good indicator for the most part... I don't know that I'm adopting the practice, just curious I guess. Just gotta weigh before dinner.

I was down 2.2 pounds for the week!!

Gone and Done It

We bought a 10 year old truck yesterday that will replace the 30 year old truck...
If you know that we are on the Dave Ramsey Plan you know we just did a big NO-NO. It would not be bad if we were out of debt already, but we didn't wait for that. It would not be bad if we had saved up the cash to buy it, but we didn't wait for that, either... our inner children won, but at least those kiddies didn't break the bank.

Right now we are $8900 (after fees and licensing) more in debt than we were the day before, but hopefully we can get the other truck sold by fall and cut that down a bit.

It's a Ford Crew Cab, white and in pretty good shape. It's automatic and I don't mind driving it. I didn't like driving the beast as I lovingly refer to the brown truck. I can't wait to take delivery on Monday!

Weekly Weigh-In (Week 22)

What a crazy volatile month it's been! I finished my biggest loser contest at almost precisely today's weigh-in. After that UP, down, UP and this week DOWN to 162.

I relaxed a bit too much after the contest and then got back on track only to have my hormones throw me for another loop... but that's all behind me now. I lost 3.8 pounds this week, and 2.8 of it was gone by Thursday... (probably just water weight).

I read an article this week about how to tell if the changes you are implementing / making are permanent lifestyle changes are not. It said to give the behavior a little test... ask yourself "could I do this everyday for the rest of my life?"

So I've given that idea a bit of thought. Right now I'm building habits to take me through the rest of my life and the more solid those habits are the better off I'll be once I make it to the maintenance stage. Being ultra strict and then relaxing without tracking and planning didn't work.

Importantly, I could see that it could all happen again. I think I know what the rest of my life is going to look like... but I've still got to plan and do it with intention, because part of me really remembers the other path. The other path is just not as healthy and I don't look as good on it...

To a healthy lifestyle! *tink* (Is it too early for a toast?)

I can blame some of it on hormones, and some of it I'll blame on the junk food fest last night. It'll be ok, probably, I didn't eat too bad this week. Last night, I was BAD, but this week, really not too bad. I'm sure it'll break.

I'm just gonna get right back on and keep going.
