End of an Era

If you want to call it that. I wasn't at it all that long. I've made the decision to stop couponing. It is with mixed emotions that I choose to quit.

In many respects I enjoyed the work that went along with it and I did like taking advantage of the savings...

However, I keep thinking about the popular metaphor where you have a bucket that represents your life and time and then you have all these rocks that you put into the bucket that represents the way you spend your time. Other priorities are suffering... like housework and um housework.

So I got on PinchingYourPennies.com and made it known that my binder and the unfiled coupons from last week were up for grabs for the first person with cash in hand. It was spoken for in less than 10 minutes and for the same price I paid for it initially. I am glad it's over... and sad it's over. I learned a lot from the process and had fun with it. Now I'm off to clean.

Speaking of filling my bucket, to be fair, coupons are not the reason the house is behind, but it is one of the reasons. The other reasons... well I'm working on keeping my hands off the computer more and busy with housework more. I'm improving, but I have a ways to go. The other is just plain not procrastinating at the housework. I love being organized and clean, I just need to put some time in and I'll be there again.

I know how time consuming couponing can be. It's the same with me doing my grocery lists lol. I take forever and I do get behind. That's awesome you got about the same money out of the binder that you put in. :)

Amber, I know what you mean about the grocery list thing too. I'm happy as all get out when I get a meal plan and a grocery list put together.

I knew your binder would be a hot ticket item.
I'm behind on my coupon clipping and filing right now and I'm not even very concerned about it.
Couponing kind of comes and goes for me. I'm winging the meal plan again this week but I need to get a meal plan and shopping list ready for Saturday so I'll probably try to get the coupons in order for that.
