Baton Rouge Success!






Traveling has always been a challenge for staying on plan with regards to what I eat and exercise. Not so this trip! Go me!!

With some advanced planning I was able to pack some healthy snacks... celery, apples, red pepper slices, dried apricots, radishes, grapefruit, and whole grain crackers.

They always have a ton of junk food available ALL day at these meetings, and SOMETIMES they have healthy snacks. Today's lunch for instance had no fruit or vegetable in sight, unless you count the leaf of lettuce on the hoagie sandwich. So I was able to snack on my red pepper slices instead of the cookies and I stayed away from the candies that someone was kind enough to pick up and sit next to me on the table. Good kinds too.

This really is doable for me, in less than ideal, situations. I just have to make a mental plan ahead of time and do whatever I need to do to prepare.

I also didn't want to go down to the hotel gym and work out, mainly because I didn't have tennis shoes. So instead, I googled "hotel room workouts" and actually found a video to workout to. I did 15 minutes strength training type exercises tonight and I am tired. My legs feel like jello.

I should probably try to get some crunches in so my tummy gets a workout, huh? Maybe after I catch my breath.

PS. I did do crunches later. My legs are sore today. (Saturday) Efforts are paying off. Can't wait for weigh in day!!

I did not try crawdads, but not out of being a wuss. I just didn't eat outside of the hotel. Too bad too, I hear that Baton Rouge has really great cuisine and should not be missed. :(
