Body Bugg Yourself!

If the pedometer idea sounded cool to you, Save Your Money!!! No really, save and save. My pedometer is cool, but the BodyBugg is so much cooler. Way more expensive but WAY MORE COOL. Popular Science wrote THIS ARTICLE about it. For now, I am satisfied with what I've got going on for my eating and fitness plan. But if I wasn't going to do Weight Watchers and I didn't JUST get a pedometer, I would seriously consider the BodyBugg. If you go to THEIR SITE you can see what your calorie requirements you have based on your resting metabolic rate and read all about it. Weird (and Cool) science for sure. You go to their website and track calories that you've eaten. This is the tool to make sure you are burning more calories than you eat, which is how we all lose weight, or don't.
I heard about this cool thing on a WW message board. Apparently some are trying to use a BodyBugg while on WW. Looks like it is a bit of overload trying to track your meals in two places, though.
I won't be getting one and I'm cool with that. But still, I did get excited that they have come up with something that is 92% accurate, for a fairly reasonable cost. I think they are about $200 and they come with 6 months membership on the website. There are cousins to this product as well (SenseWear and GoWearFit). This isn't a commercial, after all.

I've heard of those. I've even seen them on people out and about.
Looks cool and techy. LOL

Oh! For some reason I want to say beware of Ebay in regards to these. I seem to recall some discussion on PYP a while ago that nixed the Ebay idea for this product. Can't quite remember the details tho.

You want to beware of folks selling bodybuggs who aren't resellers. In addition to purchsing the device, you'll have to pay a hefty fee to bodybugg to activate the device. When you purchase through a reseller, the activation is only $26 for 6 months of web service.

Ok, First off I sold Bodybuggs on Ebay and as long as the Bodybugg is BRANDNEW (sealed) you are in good shape. Second I am(was) a Bodybugg user. I used it during my free period but haven't decided if I am going to renew my subscription. I will share some of the things that I learned. I found on a casual day that I did a lot of sitting (Tv, computer, reading) that my calories burned was aroun 2100-2300. But on the days that I stayed busy (cleaning, errands, house projects, playing with kids) my calorie burn was 2800-3000. That is a HUGE differnce and really adds up over a weeks time. Also I found when you are aware of your steps (Bodybugg keeps track of your steps) that you mentally want to do better. I loved my Bodybugg, and I still may renew my subscription. I had the v2 version. If you have any questions I can try to help. Oh I don't sell them anymore but I can tell you where I and most other ebay sellers got them from:
www.nbc.com gift store and www.24hourfitness.com
