Couponing Organization


This is my organization system so far. Yes it is a dish drainer. I don't think I'll be taking it to the stores. I haven't started getting multiple copies of coupons yet, but I thought I'd better organize what I have before I get 5 of everything tomorrow.
It's kind of paralyzing at this point. I have coupons that may save me money at home so I can't just stop by the grocery store and shop, because I might spend more than I need to. I HAVE to have a plan.
I have checkout anxiety. This kind of reminds me of back in the day when I had food stamps and they wouldn't let you tear the coupons out of the book and organize them until you were paying. I'm worried about how long it will take in line.
I'm worried that I will forget that the Walgreens coupons are double sided or that I meant to pull out 5 coupons for that and I only used one...
Yikes! Who worries about this kind of stuff? Lol, it's just coupons right?
I know this gets more complicated tomorrow. It'll be ok right?

No, I can't explain the dish drainer coupon system. You either get it or you don't. Lol.

How did you decide to do your meal planning?
You do get credit for ingenuity tho. I've heard of lots of different coupon organizing methods. But never a dish drainer. ;)

I don't really have an answer to that yet. I think for now I will still base it on what I have on hand and just supplement with the grocery shopping. I think I will still use the lists to stock up as usual and just see what comes up on the lists. I'm not too thrilled about this weeks list. Other than yougurt, I can pretty much wait to see how the sales look next week. I will try and put a meal plan together tomorrow. That sounds fun and productive.

We are pretty much planning around what we have on hand right now too. I'm hoping to stretch it all the way out till the snowball is completed but that might be wishful thinking.
Roger and I were talking about a possible new method for budgeting when our storage has been depleted.
I think we might still have our regular grocery budget of $500 per month. And then a "Food storage" category of $100 a month or so. We would use those funds specifically for stocking up on hot deals. And roll it over from month to month if we didn't use it all up in one month.
Maybe that would work for you too.
Just a thought. :)

I like that idea a lot! Yes it would work for us. We are buying beef at the end of this month which is a major Food Storage expenditure. We're cutting the grocery budget back a bit for the next two months, and the snowball, to accommodate this.
I have upgraded to the flexible file I bought for couponing way back when.
Oh, and my five papers did not start today! I wonder if I should call?
