Mastering Behaviors... Eventually : )

Change is incredibly hard!! So so hard!

I believe with all my being that I CAN do(or not do)whatever it is that I put my mind to do. I think that I was fooling myself that it would be easy, though. It is NOT easy. It's tough!

It's been awhile since I put myself to a real challenge. The last challenge was stopping an activty. This time I'm trying to add an activity.

DOING something new that is not completely pleasant, is hard! (whine) I haven't been doing well on the elliptical exercises. In fact at this very moment I am blogging and not working out.

Why can't we just decide from now on I will always..(fill in the blank, oh say I'm going to get on the elliptical machine in the morning and in the afternoon.) or just decide from now on I will never....(go to bed with dirty dishes in the sink, or spend money I don't have)and have it actually happen with relative ease?

On the other hand, the easiest person to change, and really the only person I can change is me. It is within my power. I have to want it and I have to remember that I want it bad at least twice a day.

Getting on the elliptical has health benefits for me. This is Part 2 of making healthy choices for me. (Part 1 was no smoking.) I accepted during Part 1 that there was going to be uncomfortable things that go along with making a positive change and that I was going to have to deal with it, that it would last 6- 10 minutes and would occur 20 times a day. I suppose that I need to do the same thing now...I need to accept the uncomfortable parts of exercising twice daily and the hassle and just do it. ...ughh! I mean... Go Me!!!

Oh! If you can find the easy way to change oneself, in spite of oneself, please do share that information.
No. Really. I could use it. ;)

Hey!!! I haven't given up!
Good advice. I often try to eat the whole elephant at once. Thanks for the reminder.
